Heresy: Forming

Forming by Heresy Heresy is an English fashion label combining contemporary graphic prints with classic silhouettes and fabrics. It was launched by Dominic Owen and Jasper Dunk, two long-term friends who discovered shared enthusiasm for screen printing while studying illustration. As the designers admit, the switch from screen printing to menswear was a natural transition. Now they explore new creative disciplines rooted in the world of fashion, which also allows their work to communicate with a wider audience. Hersey’s aesthetic is based on clean, modern typography with grotesque accents. They continue to play with religion, altering and poking at holy iconography and dogmas. The focus is on wearability, with drawing over branding, and fabrics and print that look better with age, making each piece more distinct over the time. Forming is a collection of high quality jersey pieces and is an experiment in the making. „Drawing at its core, stripped back with modest, muted colour, Forming is about strong honest silhouettes and design that honour the printing process that Heresy was hatched from - hard work, and hand-printed in Peckham,” say the designers. The collection consists of such pieces as loop-back sweatshirts and soft cotton collarless shirts, whereas accessories include canvas drawstring backpacks, Watch Cap beanies and simple short-peak baseball caps in wool and cotton.
