Masterskaya: Hermitage

Hermitage by Masterskaya Russian Hermitage Almanac is an example of a unique product with a thoughtful design. This quarterly magazine highlights the different eras and styles within the art world. The contents include, among others, essays, interviews with well-known artists and projects of unique objects. Several kinds of paper, embossed hard cover, all kinds of inserts and tabs, fonts and riot proportions, innovative design techniques - the magazine is really a pleasure to hold in hands. The main feature of the issue is the conceptual recoding of multiple messages by different sign systems, and an experimental verification of their perception by different people. Architecture, music, sculpture, painting, photography, animation, film, circus, literature - the almanac represents almost every conceivable art field. The structure of almanac is based on associations between images and themes. Several tools are added to work with issue: disk-mirror, stereoscopic glasses, cardboard with slots for decoding texts and animated frame to study the details of the image.
