There are some things in this world that can catch your eye in an instant, no matter what you’re doing, no matter where you are. They can be a poster for the latest movie featuring your favourite actor, the Ferrari revving at the cross junction or the cute waiter at the cafe you’re at. For me, it really depends but the one thing that always catches my eye is a perfect combination of colours.
By perfect, I mean a collection of shades and textures that stirs up a certain type of emotion. It could be nostalgia, regret, loss or longing. It could also be something more joyful and touching. Like when the leaves turn purple in a sea of green.
My heart did a little whoopeedoo when I found this ASOS printed peplum top. It’s work-safe, has a nice cut that cinches in on the waist and flares out nicely at the hips. It goes well with pants, jeans, skirts and shorts. For such a hot day, of course shorts work best!
This outfit was put together on the second day of our staycation at Hotel Fort Canning, when we went on a date at the park nearby. The clutch gives a burst of life to the overall look, and is of the right size to place important stuff in, such as hotel key cards, some spare cash, a tube of lip balm and a tissue pack. It’s no wonder it’s called the All in One Bag!
