White After Labor Day

I've always been fascinated by the seemingly age-old and mysterious rule of not wearing white after Labor Day... Why not??

An article about this in Time Magazine said
"Light Summer clothing provided a pleasing contrast to drabber urban life."
Indeed, P Diddy isn't the only one who believes white clothing provides a look of leisure. And since Labor Day always symbolized the end of Summer, I guess it just doesn't look aesthetically correct for us ladies to come back from the Hamptons, strolling into our offices wearing a white linen suit. White is for the free, casual glamour of Summer - not for the back-to-school grind.
Learning this, of course I had to play around with this theory. I took two very favorite items from my Tiny Closet: gypsy pants and a mens button up - and transitioned them from rugged cutoffs to an elegant trench, to some fresh white heels.

Playing with transitioning is what The Tiny Closet is all about actually. A wardrobe that can seamlessly take you through the seasons, no matter where you live is easier than you think. Just by changing even one or two items in an ensemble can transform a look and feel and even make your environment more enticing.
