Moving In: Upper East Side Townhome

(ABOVE) This breakfast nook area just off the kitchen is a huge selling point for me. With a wall of glass that opens onto a private outdoor garden this kitchen has become an even better entertainment space.

I’m in love with this stunning townhome on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, that was recently renovated by Flank architects. With over 5,000 square feet of beautifully designed interior and exterior spaces this 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom home is a NYC gem. From the moment you step up towards this townhome you are greeted by a simple, yet elegant front facade. One of my favorite rooms in the home is the kitchen. It features a huge wall to wall glass door that opens up to a 1,000 square foot outdoor space. When the doors are open, you feel like your kitchen is outdoors.

The furniture pieces I choose to use in this home are a relatively monochromatic yet very intricate and sophisticated in design. The home needs pieces that don’t compete with the hustle and bustle of NYC just outside the window, but still have something to say and are a conversation piece when guests visit. What do you think of the pieces and the home? Would you “Move In“?

(ABOVE) The front facade is simple and elegant. I like that you enter on ground level and I also love all the windows to allow for much natural light. With all the black trim this townhome really pops out among the another townhouses in a good way.

(ABOVE) I love white, simple kitchens, so this one hits all the points. I choose to remove the pendants however, and add a bit more eclectic ones. I also choose to use red barstools to give the space a pop of color. You can see those picks below.

(ABOVE) I love the large windows and minimal fireplace. I’d add some leather armchairs to this space to make it feel a bit more relaxed.

(ABOVE) OMG! The windows here are perfect. In general I like the decor here. Maybe a few more interesting pieces, but overall a nice space.

(ABOVE) The office has a wall of built in bookshelves, perfect for books or art. I’m a lover of books and have a decent collection, so I can’t wait to utilize these shelves.

(ABOVE) This home has 5 bedrooms, so there’s plenty of space. I like the idea of having a room with double beds. This rooms would actually be great for guests.

(ABOVE) The master is perfect. It overlooks the garden and thus is more quiet. I love the simple fireplace and minimal furnishings.

(ABOVE) How great would it be to spend some time on your roof deck. Two outdoor spaces in NYC is a real treat!
