Soon (in a month or so), we will be flying out of London and flying over to New Zealand again, not to live, but just to spend a little while back on the other side of the world; something that fills my inner explorer with excitement and my inner child with an urge to jump off things (I won’t, mum, I promise).
Last time we were there we jumped out of planes, jumped off bridges, hiked for days on one of the great walks, bathed in mud, bathed in water that made us smell like farts for days and took a whirlwind tour of some of the most beautiful parts of the country. But there is more, so much more, to be done. More great walks to be walked, more places to visit and more abnormally large seafood to eat.
This time, when we go, we’ll be abandoning summer and it’ll be winter on that side of the world. I’ve got a bag packed with ridiculously colourful unused ski gear – bought in TK Maxx Berlin (bargain!) - that is just begging to be worn.
For now though, while I’m dreaming of Queenstown peaked with snow, here’s a little photo recap of our last summer in Lord of the Rings land.
