Planning my handmade wardrobe

I like lists. I like how nice it is to have row after row of dot points and cross right through things as I do them. This brings me great joy.

So it’s no surprise that the longer I sew the more I like to get organised with my fabric stash and patterns. In fact I’m now so into this new way of planning and sewing I don’t allow myself to buy fabric without a pattern in mind. But recently I took it one step further.

I worked out my tax return and did 2 separate fabric splurges.

Once I had all my fabrics I cracked open my Fashionary and got sketching so I could record my ideas.

I’ve already started working through these ideas and you can see the Plum Ponte Dress, Geometric Ponte Dress and Blue Hollyburn Skirt made up.

Then I spent the rest of my tax return at the Spotlight 40% off sale and got these below.

The top one will be an Alma, the second one with the hummingbirds will be a Datura, the third one will be an Alma, the white cotton will be an Alma, the black crepe will be a datura and the bottom blue cotton will be a Cambie.

Then along came my birthday. I asked the lovely people in my life for money to buy my ultimate pattern stash which is where that incredible stack of Indie Patterns at the top of the post come in. Between my new fabric stash and Indie Pattern stash I am in sewing heaven.

Now that I've got a well thought out plan for my handmade wardrobe I am itching to sew it all up and wear all these awesome new clothes I can see in my head.

Here's what's up next.
