Eats in Nashville
Hello from Tennessee! I’m in Nashville for Inc’s GrowCo conference- an amazing event for small business owners. It’s pretty cool, and the line up of speakers is awesome! (I’ll get to see Mark Cuban today!) I’ve been trying to eat relatively healthy while I’m traveling since the official wedding count down is only 10 days (Isn’t that crazy?) but I can’t resist trying some local cuisine. Here’s a little What I Ate Wednesday for you:
I started the day with a couple of pieces of toast, some frozen mango, and coffee. Typical breakfast, nothing crazy.
On the plane ride, I had some juice with a Kind granola bar. Unpictured, because the lighting in an airplane is quite terrible. But I must say that the dark chocolate Kind bar was awesome. I’ll be buying that again, I’m sure.
Once we arrived at our hotel, I was hungry again and I was excited to see a kale salad on the lunch menu at the restaurant. I ended up having a cup of tomato soup with the kale salad which was delicious. That’s fennel on top. (I thought it was onion but as soon as I tasted it I realized it was fennel! So tasty!)
After a long day of working, a group of us headed to a place called The Farm House, which was a very “nose to tail” type of restaurant. Unfortunately almost every dish contained some sort of bacon or bacon fat but I managed to find some vegetarian options on the menu and the “TN Mac & Cheese” was ah-maze-ing. Definitely one of the best macaroni and cheese dishes I’ve ever had. The salad wasn’t too shabby, either. That’s a champagne vinaigrette foam on top. Yes, foam. Don’t ask me how they do it because I don’t know. But it was tasty.
