Confessions of a Refashionista

Wendy’s Refashionista Confession

Welcome to another fabulous Refashionista Confession…

Wonderful Wendy of Kitty Gritty Designs was so inspired by my Manly Makeover that she decided to hit the thrift store & create a version for herself!

Here’s what she did:

I like the look of denim jackets but find they feel sort of stiff and clutzy…

So thought, WWSD?? (What would Sheri do?)

I thrifted a very nice Liz Claiborne jacket for $3, and a grubby large sweatshirt for $2.

I was afraid (as this was my first sleeve project) to completely take out the denim sleeves – fearful I couldn’t get the proper fit when stitching together. So, I cheated and left a few inches on the jacket sleeve, cut off the sweatshirt sleeves and made them narrower to fit and sewed them on. Very happy! But then I realized I missed having pockets at the bottom…

so I cut out 2 from the sleeve remnants, added 2 scraps cut from the jacket, and sewed them on (I measured them against my cell phone so it would fit into the pocket).

Whoo hoo! A fabulous result that I am thrilled to have inspired! I’m totally smitten with those two-tone pockets! A huge Danke Schoen to Wendy for sending over her groovy refashion!

If you’ve created an awesome refashion I’d love to help you shout it from the rooftops!
