Life Lately: College Graduate

This week? Nothing short of a whirlwind. I graduated on Monday, moved to a new city on Tuesday, and unpacked too many boxes to count on Wednesday. Today, I’m finally catching my breath and type it all out in a blog post. Here is life lately, as told by Instagram:

First came college graduation. More than 650 students graduated from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication this year, and the ceremony was one for the books. How so? Take that aforementioned whirlwind and add a torrential downpour. My gown, originally emerald, green turned black. My hat is still soggy. And even though I couldn’t see anything thanks to sheets of rain, walking across that stage of get my diploma was one of the proudest moments in my life. Even better, I got to spend the day with family and friends.

Next came the move to Portland. For those of you unfamiliar with Oregon, this is our definition of a “big city.” Though the city does have over half a million people living in it. Settling into a new apartment in a new city is always a hurdle – this is my second time doing it – but I’m so excited to spend the summer exploring. There will be more to come on Portland very soon.

Forgive me if Coffee and Cardigans is quiet this weekend. Internet installation won’t happen until next week and I’m going through blog withdrawals – call me pathetic. Ever tried blogging from your iPhone? Don’t do it. I’m resorted to typing my blog posts into Word documents at home, and then camping out at Starbucks for long hours. But life will fall into a new post-graduate rhythm very soon – I’m looking forward to what that feels like. What advice do you have for dealing with post-grad emotions?
