Dark Lip Trend for Fall/Winter 2014 Series Part 1

Every year around this time, people tend to get rid of their bright pink, orange, lavender, and coral lip colors in exchange for darker berries, purples, burgundies, browns, and even black lip colors.

In this series, I’m going to show you some of the colors I’ll be using this season. Starting off with my variation of Black Lips.

**Now before I go any further, I want to give a disclaimer. I was doing practice looks for Halloween when I took most of these pictures, hence the bright blue wig and the mismatched eye makeup. Ha ha! I couldn’t decide whether to go with dark eyes or more neutral eyes. I was also trying to decide which black combo to use. **

I began with MAC Black Knight Lipstick.

Due to Black Knight being a Cremesheen, it goes on pretty sheer.
This looks more like a dark purple than black, so I added Urban Decay Perversion Pencil. It’s the smoothest & blackest pencil I have.

The Perversion Pencil made a big difference. I was curious to see how a glossier lip would look, so I added MAC Blackware GlimmerGlass.
I really like the high shine effect that I got from using Blackware GlimmerGlass.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of my Dark Lip Fall/Winter 2014 Trend series.
