NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATIONS - OUTFITS*

New Year's is an event you definitely need to pre plan a showstopping outfit. It's always a bit of an awkward one and I feel a bit too dressy as i'm too used to casual dressing!
*Of course, you could wait until the post-Christmas sales to pick up a bargain or two, but if you want to have the pick of the best items on the rails, start looking sooner, rather than later. Before you head for the shops though, you should have an idea of what you’re hoping to wear? Are you and your friends organising something special? Is it a more casual affair? The type of celebrations you are expecting will dictate what you wear, but here are some fantastic choices to help inspire you.
Party Dress Pick a party dress from George and you won’t have to worry about spending too much on an outfit. A pretty party dress is one of a woman’s wardrobe essentials and one that can be worn again and again will mean extra value for money.
The style of party dress will depend on what you feel most confident in. If you have the figure to flaunt, a little black dress would be perfect, while Bodycon dresses will help to smooth over any lumps and bumps (after all, NYE is after the inevitable Christmas binge!).
Evening Dress
If you’re heading out to somewhere a little classy, for example to a posh fine dining restaurant or to an elegant ball, a simple party dress may not cut it. You may have to go all out with a glitzy evening dress but don’t worry, you don’t have to spend a fortune if you don’t want to. Evening dresses make their way into the sales all the time, so if you’re willing to wait a little bit, you could bag a bargain after Christmas.
Fancy Dress
Are you going out on the town and making a fun-filled night of it? Plenty of friends plan some sort of fancy dress debauchery and if you give yourself enough time to plan, you can make your efforts that little bit better. Accessorise with some Snazaroo face paints to make your fancy dress outfit that little more authentic, or get creative with some great make up techniques.
Dress It Down
Dressing casually is all that’s needed in many cases, especially if your NYE celebrations involve a trip to the local or having a few friends over for drinks. A simple skirt and tights with pretty top could be all that’s needed to make an impression without worrying about having to dress up.

Whatever your plans, bring 2014 in with a bang! Happy New Year!
