To shopping ban.... or not?

A little over a month ago, Tanvii tweeted about going on a shopping ban. And I got really excited about the whole thing. And you can see my thoughts on it and why I was looking forward to starting the ban in February, here.

Then, London happened. And as elated as I was about going to one of the fashion capitals of the world, there was also that feeling that there was a shopping ban lurking around waiting to be started.
Gaaah! "But aren't promises meant to be broken?" and "resolutions meant to be forgotten" blah blah...I kept day-dreaming about the fashion-lined streets, and fun flea markets that London is so famous for.
But when I got there, something really weird happened. Suddenly I was leaning more towards spending the big bucks on fewer things..... as opposed to..... spending small small amounts on a lot of cheaper things. (and my husband was freaking out at me for this..honestly! for not shopping for enough things honey?!)
I wasn't interested in accumulating little knick-knacks, and weird things to collect as souvenirs, but rather just taking back a couple of high quality things that would last me, and be prized possessions. Here are the things I bought..
Topshop fur jacket bought on sale (I got almost 45% off on this baby!)
So this brings me to a question now... Do I really need to put myself on an official shopping ban to curb my desire to shop? Or is it just the question of training your sub-conscious mind to prioritise and remember what you need and what you don't.
Michael Kors bag
Caroline Issa for L.K. Benett shoe (and these were bought at Heathrow... discounted/ duty free! )
A limited edition piece of gorgeousness by one of my favourite fashion voices today!
Thrifted earrings from the Portobello Flea market!
So should I get on the wagon, and on the shopping ban? Or not? What d'you say..
