Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. but I decided to challenge myself this summer by volunteering to work on a local political campaign. Ummm, yeah, that’s quite exhausting, but I wanted to take a break to share my review of firmoo.com a global online site where you can shop for trendy, affordable glasses.
Yes, I wear glasses! I have owned a pair since my high school days when the eye doctor told me that I needed them. I wasn’t having any noticeable vision problems at that time, but apparently because I couldn’t read the microscopic lettering on one of the charts that was 5 miles across the room the doctor decided that it was time for a pair. My mother agreed, with the hope that over time the glasses would help to correct my vision.
Back then, I picked a very 90′s pinkish, purply plastic framed glasses which ended up in the bottom of my bag after my mother forked over hundreds of dollars to pay for them. I NEVER wore them! Later on in life when I started to see the effects of declining vision I forked over hundreds of dollars for tiny granny like glasses which ended up in the bottom of my bag… Well, you know the rest!.
Earlier this year, I noticed that it was getting harder for me to read street signs, so I made an appointment, got my eyes examined and walked out with a new prescription.
Before I left the doctors office, I took a look at their selection of glasses. They were all pretty fancy, and designer affiliated, but the $200 plus price tag was just too much for my very shallow pockets. By coincidence, I was contacted and offered a complimentary pair of glasses from a site called firmoo.com for review. I honestly ignored the email because 1) I wasn’t very familiar with the company and 2) I thought it was accessory eye wear. When I realized that I could order prescription glasses, I went for it.
Super Easy Online Process!
I thought the process of ordering glasses online would be overwhelming but it really wasn’t. I simply picked my frame, the color and then I entered my prescription information. There was one point that I had to measure the distance between my two pupils and even that was easy. I used the ruler that was available at my desk, entered it in the appropriate field and submitted my order. My glasses were complimentary, but even without this, my frames would have only cost $45.95 (including shipping). A week later, a package showed up at my private mailbox from China.
Pro:

- Clear instructions on how to obtain measurement for pupils.
- The frames came with both a hard and soft case and a lens cleaner.
- Despite low coast, glasses are really great quality.
- Anti-scratch included.
- Option to add other luxuries to your frame and lens, (i.e. tint).
Cons:
I honestly can’t think of any. As a matter of fact, my overall experience was so great that I am actually ordering another pair from Firmoo. (-:
