How to Improve Dry Skin Under the Eyes

I didn’t realize that I had dry skin in my eye area until I tried contouring and highlighting using concealer and setting powder. Both left my skin feeling irritated and tight. However, I think I have found a really great regimen to help improve dry skin under the eyes. I’ve incorporated all three of the following products which seems to be working really well for me.

Miracle Skin Transformer Treat and Conceal (tan) $36

Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal is a multifunctional concealer with powerful hydration, treatment and protection benefits that works to camouflage uneven skin tone, dark circles and redness. The formula blends easily on the skin and can be used as a primer to even out skin before applying foundation. It contains M3 complex, which includes marine collagen, white rose and chamomile extracts and other essential oils. It also helps to visibly minimize the signs of aging on your face and keeps skin smooth and glowing:

I love this product! This is my go to concealer when I wear full makeup. My only complaint about this product is that I really wish that I had the darker color. I was sent the tan for review. If it was darker, I would use this daily just as a cover-up for my stubborn dark under eye circles. However, the tan is a really great to use as a highlighter under my eye.

As a concealer, I apply the tiniest (and I mean tiniest) amount under my eye and on top of the lid. This is extremely pigmented and a little goes a long way. As a highlighter, I apply it in a V pattern that extends from directly under my eye to the tip of my nose. I am actually wearing it in the photo below. I haven’t felt any irritation or tightness since I replaced this with my old concealer.

It’s bit pricey, but I have a feeling that I will be using this same tube for the next several months. I set it with Ben Nye’s banana powder for a bolder highlight and then sweep a bit of my pressed powder (in my color) to prevent flashback from the Ben Nye.

Lindi Skin Eye Hydrator ($30)

This nutritious eye gel from Lindi Skin brings total transformation to tired, stressed eye areas. The nourishing formula gently fortifies, reduces puffiness, soothes irritation and instantly awakens eyes for a livelier appearance. The weightless gel absorbs immediately for rub-free application and a comfortable, toned finish.

This was part of my swag bag stash from the Beauty Press event that I attended back in May. I like this brand because it was developed and specially formulated for chemo and radiation treatment patients. This can be used during the day or night, but I really prefer to use it at night. It’s really gentle and the ingredients are all natural. I use my ring finger to apply this product at night after applying my moisturizer. It’s very lightweight and a little also goes a very long way with this one.

Clarins Eye Contour Gel ($36)

Clarins’ cooling, non-oily gel minimizes the look of fatigue. Instantly de-puffs and visibly brightens dark circles — refreshing, hydrating and resting the delicate skin around eyes. Ingredients include: wild rose which visibly minimizes puffiness and the look of dark circles; concentrated rose water relaxes, softens and soothes; and palmetto which refreshes and tones eyelids.

I actually prefer to use this in the morning because it can also be used as eye makeup base. I also use my ring finger to apply this iafter applying my moisturizer with light tapping motions to my under eye area and lids. This is a great product to use after a night of tears or long night of partying to address eye puffiness. I know this from experience.

XoXo, Natasha
