Macy’s, Fall Fashion: What’s In Stores and Online

Thanks to Everywhere Society, last Saturday I got the chance to see Macy’s, Fall Fashion collection at the beautiful Crossgates Mall in neighboring Albany, New York. This year, Macy’s partnered with the acclaimed fashion and music charitable event, Fashion Rocks® in order to bring the glitz and glamour of the runway to suburbia and Main streets all across America.
Attending the Macy’s fall fashion event has become a pretty big deal for me. There is usually a celebrity present and/or they incorporate really great elements to make the event educational and memorable. There wasn’t any celebrities present at the Albany event but they certainly made up for that with food and hospitality. Catering was courtesy of The Old Daley based in Troy, NY and music was provided by New York City based DJ Dave Ali.
So what’s in stores and/or online at Macy’s this fall?
Suede Wedge Pumps and Booties
Wedges are the go to heels for women with weak ankles and who desire comfort. These wedges are not short on style, however. Vegan Leather
It’s no longer called “pleather” and it’s certainly no longer uncool. Vegan leather is the cruelty free and more affordable material of choice for those of us that love the look of leather but don’t want the guilt. Macy’s has a great selection available in stores and online for both men and women and in styles to suit your needs.
I am a big fan of the motorcycle jacket. They punch up the look of any outfit and if layered correctly, they can take you from season to season. Vegan (or faux leather) leggings are a must have this fall. They are perfect for travel, for a quick run to the corner store or you can dress them up with heels for a fun night out.
The knee length or walker coat looks great with pants and even skirts. This length also works for day and evening. I love this white Micheal Kors hooded belted one available online at Macys.
Nostalgia
Because there was a wide demographic in the audience, the stylist showed us modern interpretations of popular styles from the 60′s – 90′s. There was the poncho and aztec print vest that gave a throw back to the 70′s; the Audrey Hepburn inspired pencil pants and fancy sweatshirt which was a throwback to the 60′s and the denim and plaid royal blue ensemble which was a throwback to grunge style that dominated the early 90′s.
