One Direction Releases Makeup Line
One Direction has expanded their merchandising to include something that they know their tween fan base would definitely love, Makeup by One Direction. Yes, you read that right, the famous boy band that got their start on the U.K. franchise of the X-factor released three limited edition makeup kits last month here in the U.S. The kits will be released worldwide soon, I’m sure in time for the upcoming big holiday season.

My thoughts:
I received a free sample of the Take Me Home kit from Brandbacker as part of this promotion. It’s nicely packaged in a metallic {vintage lunch box feel} container that can be and will be repurposed later on. This kit was clearly packaged for and is ideally suited for a tween girl but believe it or not I’ve been playing in it.
The Last First Kiss lipstick is very sheer and is more of a tinted chapstick than lipstick. The gloss is something you can steal or borrow from your daughter. It’s actually ok, but be warned that it glows to neon yellow in the dark.
The eye-shadow kit is actually ok. It’s a neutral palette {browns and peachy colors} that would work best, I think on lighter skin tones. I love the brush on the mascara, it’s built for tiny lashes and really coats the lashes well. I dipped my angled eyebrow brush in the chocolate crayon to fill in my eyebrows. The nail polish is a clear glitter nail polish that looks great alone or as the top coat of another polish.
