Denim was unquestionably the buzzword at NYFW, regardless of upcoming Fall stories that were foretold during last season's catwalk series. Indeed, although knitwear is set to be the true star of the season, as per every designer's instructions, and despite the enticing lineup of jumpers in all shape and form currently in stores, the street style set seemed to settle for cool denim (in every sense of the word) after the heatwave hit NYC.
Some of us (ahem!) grossly misjudged how hot it would actually get (in my defence, we're not all trained to get dressed in a fridge—bloody air con!—only to step out into an overheated oven). Hashtag life in the big apple. Fortunately, by day 3, we "the fashion tourists" had got our act together. Hence all the easy, sweat-free denim on the block. Dress: Tommy Hilfiger (similar here or here) || Shoes: Stella McCartney (or the lace-ups) || Bag: Chanel || Sunnies: Rag & Bone
