Bloglover

Day 50

Because this is my blog and therefore the only place and time when I am not being delirious when I say I’m Queen, I want to take this moment to make a mandate: “I hereby proclaim that every civilian that has decided to enter my kingdom and read this post now holds a royal obligation to visit our new online boutique … and make a purchase.” Ok, so maybe this cybernetic kingdom of mine doesn’t grant me enough power to force you to do either of those things, but we are very proud of our one-of-a-kind vintage revamped shorts collection and the way we have virtually displayed it! And as any proud new mom, it is my duty to brag a little bit about it and ask you to go check it out, and ultimately shove it in your face a little! So here it is (: WWW.FAKEFRIVOLITY.COM For those of you who haven’t heard, Fake Frivolity is our very own private label. Which we decided to develop when we noticed how much attention our DIY revamped vintage shorts had been getting. After reading and hearing a few times the “where can I get some of these?” question, we decided it was time to “give our people what they wanted” (yes, I have a queen complex indeed. But of course, what person that takes pictures of, and blogs about, herself all day doesn’t?) Back to Fake Frivolity, the moment we decided to pursue the idea of having an online boutique (an idea which we had been considering for quite a while) so many options began to flourish. We could sell the clothes used on the blog, we could buy things at stores add a twist to them and resell them, we could develop t-shirt, we could develop an entire line, maybe even throw in shoes, bags and sunglasses… we could expand this little virtual kingdom and take over the world! Then we came back to reality. Baby steps guys, baby steps are key to avoid epic mistakes when you decide to take a leap into an area that you don’t really know much about. As is the very-high-failure-rate world of manufacturing and retail. So we decided to start by doing what we do best. And that is why we are launching our brand with this curated collection of one-of-a-kind shorts designs and developed 100% by us. If you love our blog and enjoy our style, now you can be a part of it by purchasing a pair of shorts made by yours truly, and at the same time helping us keep TGWP going! Everything at GoodWill might be less than &10, but when you are striving for 365 looks, it adds up! Feel free to do the math (: Meanwhile, we are working with manufacturers in different parts of the world to expand our horizons little by little and allow the brand to grow into a full-on online boutique in the (hopefully) near future. As for the outfit, this is what I wore to the pre website-launch presentation that we had last week at DB Bistro at the JW Marriot Marquis. My very own pair of 1 O.A.K. Fake Frivolity shorts and, in classic fashion designer etiquette for show-day, all black. I love this silk blouse because of the soft bow detail and the sheer fabric, expect plenty of this style for sale on Fake Frivolity, because it is who I am at the core! Black tights to dress up my casual denim shorts, camel sandals to give it an edge, and this amazing vintage Salvatore Ferragamo bag I stole from my mom the first time I laid eyes on it! “Something old, something new, something borrowed!” I might not be stepping on the altar any time soon; but this brand is hopefully forever, so I need all the luck I can get in this long-term commitment! XO, Eugy P.S. With the little power that I do posses over this blog, I proclaim this week to be Fake Frivolity week! So expect a few posts showcasing our collection of 1 O.A.K. shorts as we introduce you to the brand and attempt at teasing you unti you go grab a pair!
