Testing My New Canon 60D: Photos of Dior My Lady Blushes

This is the first product photos I took using my new camera. It took some getting used to, and I was testing the capability of this camera with far from perfect artificial light. These pictures were taken on my vanity desk, clutter as my background

All photos are unedited, except for changing the size to fit my blog. My first photo was this one, taken further away from the light source and it’s a little darker. I was playing with f2.8 and zoomed at 50mm hence you see the dreamy effect.

I then went closer to the subject, and there isn’t much difference except for the bokeh on the product itself.

For this photo, I put the blush closer to the light source, and while it is a little overexposed, I still liked how it turned out. I focused it on the bottom right of the blush, and the rest look blurry. Of course, if I changed the f to say f4, the whole blush will look sharper.

Last photo, just because the blushes are so pretty. For this, the sharpness is only focused at the center of the photo. I love playing with f2.8 because I could never achieve such dreaminess using my old Canon G12.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and I’ll continue to play with my Canon 60D to try to master it. I get asked why I chose 60D compared to 70D since the latter is newer. I don’t need the touchscreen, and the rest of the features are the same. I save so much more getting the 60D, and at the moment, taking into consideration the uses I have for this camera, 60D is more than enough What do you think?

xoxo Lily
