Femme Boulevard: Hollywood Goddess

To tell you the truth, I don’t have a particular favourite Hollywood actress. I have girl crushes sometimes, but I seldom go crazy on actresses or actors or singers. So when my fellow Femmes suggested channeling Hollywood Goddess, I was a little stuck. What or who am I going to do? I delayed this post, and postponed until the very last minute… just a few hours before the post is due. I went through all the photos of the most recent Oscars and noticed one thing. Most of them looked like themselves, just better. Many played up the eyes, paired with subtle cheeks and nude lips. However, most of them, most of the time, wore makeup that’s noticeable but not over the top. Hence, that’s what I chose to do. I played with colours close to my own natural skin tone, browns, beiges and a hint of pink.

For the eyes, it was all about layering. I used Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage, a mostly matte palette that is flattering on most skin tones. I contrasted the warmth with the cool pink Dior My Lady blush in 002, and tied everything together with a combination of lip colours. I used Dior Fluid Stick in Mirage as a base. It is a bright coral on my lips which clashed like crazy with the blush. I then used Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Mischievous Rose on top of Mirage to tone down the coral. Mischievous Rose on its own is much lighter than my natural lip colour, and when paired this way, it still looks rosey mauve but without the corpse like feel.

The whole look is soft and natural, understated but polished.

Of course, glamming up the hair, accessories and outfit will change the look completely, so let’s just put our imagination to work and pretend I have loads of bling on. LOL! While the look is not ka-pow, BAM, in your face, WHOA… it’s totally wearable, a my face but better kinda look. Don’t miss out what the rest of my buddies did so be sure to click on the links below

I hope you liked this look, and I’ll see you soon!

xoxo Lily
