For my birthday last year my lovely boyfriend bought me a few pieces of
Marimekko dinnerware. I'd been after some Marimekko for the longest time, and I'm completely in love with them, but this new collection from the Finnish design powerhouse has me wanting even more! Called
Weather Diary, the new collection's intention is to bring the unique moments of nature to the dinner table, and has been inspired by Nordic weather patterns. Each piece features a different watercolour design, but works cohesively as a whole. I really do like this idea of having mismatched items that are linked via elements such as line and colour, don't you?
So beautiful! Head on over to the
Marimekko website to view the full collection. And if you'd like some further insight into how the collection came about, there's a
Weather Diary video and an interview with designer
Aino-Maija Metsola. That's all from me for the week – I'm off to spend my weekend dreaming about owning that
yellow Weather Diary teapot. Hope you have a good one!
