Nos gustan las sorpresas y Los Chuchis son una de las mejores de los últimos tiempos. Nos topamos con este restaurante en una calle olvidada de Lavapiés y nos imaginamos que tras esa fachada azul y esa cristalera había un sitio con encanto, especial. Aquel día no conseguimos mesa y es que sólo hay tres, pero volvimos con reserva y la cocina de Mr. Preston nos conquistó. Cocina inglesa con inspiración de Jamie Oliver (a juzgar por los libros de las estanterías) para chuparse los dedos. Sorpresa mayúscula.
Tenéis que venir a probar sus “cáscaras” de patata con chimichurri, el pollo asado con patatas y romero, las salchichas, el cerdo asado a fuego lento. A mediodía tienen un menú buenísimo por 11€, de noche, a la carta, rondará los 20€. El postre fué espectacular, un bizcocho de pera con mascarpone y grosellas perfecto.
Un restaurante honesto, acogedor, donde te tratan con una sonrisa y te sirven comida deliciosa a buen precio. Definitivamente uno de los mejores descubrimientos del año.

Los Chuchis is a big surprise: we came across this little restaurant in a forgotten street in the neighborhood of Lavapiés, exactly where one would not expect it, and felt attracted inmediatly. Behind that blue façade and wide windows there must be a charming place, and so it is. We didn’t get a table that day, but came back with a reservation in advance and fell in love with Mr. Preston’s meals. Delicious english cuisine with a Jamie Oliver touch. Could that be possible? Oh yes. Big deal.
You need to try those fried potato peels with chimichurri, roasted chicken with rosemary and baked potatoes, the slow roasted pork. There’s a daily menu for 11€, but all plates are around 10€ so it’s really affordable. Dessert was spectacular too: pear cake with mascarpone. Just delicious.
Honest and warm, a place where you get great food at great prices and a smile. Definitely in our top list of the year.
