Let them be little. Lately I feel like everything is about more. Kids start school younger, go longer, and there seems to be this push for them to know more. I’m all for learning, but right now I just want to let them be little.
This means that the floor is often littered with Legos, blocks and action figures. It means that we listen to the Frozen soundtrack on repeat and if our TV is on it is PBS Kids. It means that the watercolor painting is just as important was an A on a math test and the cool trick with the ball is worth a million oohs and ahhs.
If I have learned anything during these five and half years of parenting and three kids in–it is, time goes so fast. Right now, I’m trying to soak it all in.
When you find words to live by, you put them on a pillow. And when you are at your wits end, you take a deep breath and say, “Let them be little”.
