A Jeweled Box

I was recently walking through the craft store and I spied these wood boxes. Geodes, quartz, stone are totally in right now. Anthropologie has beautiful geode hardware I’m swooning over. I also recently saw two of my favorite bloggers, The Handmade Home and I Heart Organizing, creating with these elements.

I had received the Elmer’s ProBond product as part of this sponsored post. It is meant for attaching porous and non-porous surfaces and I knew it would work perfectly for my box.

I took off the hardware and painted the entire box gold. This was the same DecoArt gold paint I used on my chalkboards. Then I plopped some of that ProBond glue on the box where I wanted my stone (which is actually jewelry) and let it dry.

We have our little desk space right in our living room. We are a close-knit family and do everything in the same room–give or take. There really is something to say for a lot of people in a smaller home and family bonding.

I’m thinking of lining the box with some fun contact paper. It will be the perfect place for storing cords/chargers and other things we are constantly reaching for, but aren’t pretty.

And I still haven’t read Gone Girl. It is officially on my summer reading list! Have you read it? Was it good?

I digress.

This was such a fun and simple project–that was super affordable–I will definitely be making more!

Hi, I'm Megan--the crazy mom of three behind this blog. Please don't be intimidated by the name. Note it doesn't say BALANCED Home. We hardly have it all together, but together we have it all. Or at least that is what I tell myself. I love rearranging, decorating, creating, crafting, celebrations, family, and holidays. I share a little bit of all of that and more on Balancing Home. I am married to my college sweetheart (Is that a thing? Well now it is.) and he is a very talented designer. I use him for his skills so I can offer up sweet printables to all of you.
