Jason Wu for Lancôme Swatches, Review + Looks

I’ll admit, what initially drew me in to look at the Jason Wu for Lancôme display was the cute little bag you got with any palette purchase. It was too small to use as a makeup bag (for me, anyway… because I have hoarding issues) but I thought it would be adorable to keep kid essentials in (band-aids, hand wipes.. the usual) and still look like a classy momma. It was the push I needed to buy a few products from the counter at Nordstrom. Also, I’m a sucker for pretty packaging and the little floral decor is subtle and gorgeous!

The first item I want to talk about is the Lancôme Midnight Floral Color Design Eye Brightening All-in-One 5 Shadow & Liner Palette ($50.00). The 5 shades are meant to work well together and coordinate flawlessly. Each is marked for wear you need to put it on your lid, but if you’re like me you probably just went ahead and did what you wanted with the colors.

The shadows in this palette are soft and silky. They apply well and last the day without creasing. Midnight Floral is a great palette for a day look, work look and will be super easy to transition all of that into a killer sultry night look.

The shades are swatched below dry and with no primer, though with my eye look I did use Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base.

Unfortunately, as beautiful as the Lancôme Atlantic Blue Artliner is, it was a huge dud for me. I actually spoke with a Lancôme MUA just this past week who said they get a ton of returns on that particular product (not just the one from Jason Wu, the entire range of Artliner). So much so that she recommends the 24H over the regular Artliner because they’re fantastic to work with. I personally haven’t tried the other, so if you’ve had the opportunity to test out both I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Anyway, as you can see below the liner was patchy to apply. No matter what I did (shaking it up, letting coats dry in between, using different sides of the applicator) nothing helped. This was seriously the best I could do with it and this is coming from someone who had no issues with the Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner on the first attempt. It took me 10 minutes to get the line on my eye below and it still looks bad.

Overall, yes to the palette, no to the liner. Have you tried anything from the Jason Wu x Lancôme line? What are your faves?

The Jason Wu for Lancôme collection can be purchased at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Dillard’s, Macy’s and lancome-usa.com.
