If you’re into rainbows the Summer 2014 Collection from Marc Jacobs Beauty just may have blown your mind. The collection wasn’t small, but it wasn’t huge either with one limited edition Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow Palette for the eyes, nine new Highliner Gel Eye Crayon shades, three new Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer (two of which are LE) and a perfect peachy blush in Shameless.

The first (and my most favorite) part of Summer 2014 that I want to talk about is the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow in The Siren 210 ($59.00, Limited Edition, Sephora).

The Siren contains 7 Eye shadows in cloud white pearl, rusty red pearl, copper shimmer, marigold shimmer, seafoam pearl, cobalt pearl, sea smoke glitter pearl. I found the shades to be easy to work with, very soft and blendable. I experienced fall-out with the red shade but not with any of the others. There were no issues with fading or creasing when used with a primer (I used NARS Smudge Proof). Below the shadows are swatched on my arm dry, with no primer. I love that the shades are intense, but wearably so.

Next the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon. Nine new shades came out for Summer and I grabbed three of them. Of course I need them all, but for now these will have to do Brown(Out) 54 is a bronze with shimmer, Mari(Gold) 70 is a Golden Peach and Obey-Ge 66 is a pearly pale pink. In line with my usual experience with these liners they go on super smooth and then do not budge. They work well on the waterline, even, making them a heavy favorite of mine.

In the eye look below I used NARS Smudge Proof Eye Shadow Base as my primer and worked in all of the shades in the palette like a rainbow. The only shade you really can’t see that I used in the look is that blackened teal shade at the end. I smudged it a bit under my lower lash line but the bold-ness of the electric blue shade really took over. Brown(Out) is used as a very thin top liner and Mari(Gold) was used on my lower water-line. Obey-Ge is at the inner corners of the eye at the top and bottom for more of a pop. The mascara is Revlon Bold Lacquer.

This is the same eye look photographed without the flash:

Did you pick up anything from Marc Jacobs Beauty Summer 2014? How would you wear the eye palette?

The products from the Marc Jacobs Beauty Summer 2014 collection can be purchased now at Sephora.
