August 2014 Wantable Beauty Box Swatches & Review
You’re probably thinking WHY are you posting the August Wantable Beauty Box NOW? Um, because I love it and I have to show you how awesome it was! Time got away with me for this one. I ordered it late into the month of August, so I got it in the last week of that month. I photographed it right away so I could use the products and then totally forgot to post. It’s perfect for a Sunday share, though, because ALL THE PRETTY THINGS!
What is Wantable? Wantable is a subscription service aimed to provide curated, hand-picked boutique makeup (from brands such as Lise Watier, Cailyn, Color Club and Japonesque – just to name a few!), jewelry items and now even intimates.
The best part about Wantable is that everything is full sized! You’re not going to receive any samples or small sizes of makeup and the jewelry will be customized and also limited edition items.
Wantable is the most customized subscription service I’ve ever come across, and they actually take into account what you log in to their “quiz”. Because it’s so customizable, you’ll likely never see the same exact box within blog reviews. Start out by choosing a category – makeup, intimates or jewelry (I chose makeup but it was seriously hard to decide, because jewelry is also a HUGE love of mine!). Then you take the personalized style quiz. This is fabulous because if you hate receiving eyeliners, you won’t get them. Ever. Same goes for nail polish, lip products, mascara…. anything! You could say you like eye shadow and hate everything else, and you’d get a whole box of eye shadows!
From Tarina Tarantino, Dollskin Blush Palette. This palette contains gorgeous product living inside gorgeous packaging. You get four shades in Feather, Parasol, Carved Rose and Candy Cameo. I love every single product I’ve tried from this brand and the Dollskin Blush Palette is no exception. The retail on this alone is $45, so just in this ONE item you got your money’s worth on your subscription for this month.
From Geri G., Lip Gloss Creme. The color I got was Nude, which is perfect for me because I wear a nude shade on my lips every day. This gloss felt good and had a nice opacity to it. While I’ve never heard of this brand based off of this product I’d love to check out more from them! Retail price: $18.00.
From Vincent Longo, Vibrant Eye Waterproof Liner. The shade I got was Nerino, which is a saturated black. The applicator is a smaller brush, and though it’s not normally the type of applicator I like for a product like this I found it very easy to use and apply. The product wore well and didn’t budge all day. Retail price: $18.50.
From Vincent Longo, Dew Drop Blush. The shade I got is Gold Canyon, which is a plummy mauve nude. Super pigmented, super soft. Total love, but if you go off and order this know that you need to apply using a very light hand. Retail price: $30.00.
I was REALLY happy with this months box. Confession, though… I ordered it almost knowing I’d get that Tarina Tarantino blush palette. I saw it on some other blog posts and I’m like YES I absolutely need that in my life. Of course, there’s always a chance I wouldn’t have received it, but I did mark that I love blush… it’s a chance I was willing to take!
