First and foremost I need to chat with you all. My people. Because no one else around here understands. I am so sad that I completely missed out on the Gravitas Eye Shadow Palette from the MAC x Brooke Shields Collection. The levels of beauty sadness that I’m feeling know no bounds. My momma named me after Brooke Shields. This is a palette of neutrals and slight smokey shades, basically made for my life. Sigh. Anyway, as much as I know you all enjoy my dramatic ramblings I’m going to cut it and review the items I was able to get from the collection – the Brooke Shields Cherished Cream Colour Base and Scone Bronzing Powder.

The packaging is a flat grey with orange print. It’s the same material as the usual black packaging (plastic) but unfortunately neither of these products have a mirror at the interior.

Cream Colour Base ($31.00). The duo is named Cherished and is a bright coral pink/soft burgundy rose. The pigment on both of these is fantastic and while cream colour bases feel sticky to the touch they’re easy to tap on the cheeks and blend. When I use these I first apply to the apples of the cheeks and tap upward with my fingers. I use a brush to blend the product out. CCB’s always stay the day on my cheeks (around 12 hours) and need to be removed with makeup remover. (You can also wear CCB on the lips).

Bronzing Powder ($27.50). The shade is Scone (soft golden peach beige) and it has a satin finish. The top was dry but if you rub at it the product underneath is soft and easy to use. This is a rather light shade of bronzer, which is perfect for me (I’m NC20 right now). You can layer it up for more color or apply it lightly if you need less. This is a shade that I feel both warm and cool tones could wear. Wear time was usual for me on a MAC satin finish cheek product (about 7-8 hours).

Overall I think that these cheek products were a nice addition to the collection and were at least products I could see Brooke Shields wearing. In a perfect world there would have been a powder blush duo too
