Last year I found this 2 pack of old plastic shutters at the thrift store. Last summer I turned one into a fiun flag decoration, but the other one has been hanging out in my garage. I decided to make a little vertical hanging "BOO" sign for Halloween, but everywhere I hung it looked lame. Then, The Everyday Show in Denver asked me to come on and share all of my Halloween projects and I HAD to figure out how to display this easy and cute sign.
A lightbulb went off and I grabbed the shutter and a can of black spray paint. 2 coats and now the sign totally pops and I just love it! I used ready made white letters from the craft store, a spider from Dollar Tree and black ribbon. This was crazy easy and is making my porsh look sufficiently spooked out!
I am not sure it's going to hold up well if we get any bad weather, but seriously, here in Denver it may not rain for the entire month! I will have to remember to bring it in if anything blows through.
