Radical Skincare Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum Review

Radical Skincare Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum Review

Over the past 6 months I’ve been able to try a few products from Radical Skincare that I really like. The latest that was sent my way is the Radical Skincare Advanced Peptide Antioxidant Serum. It had big shoes to fill, because I really loved the Instant Revitalizing Mask & Age Defying Exfoliating Pads that I’ve already reviewed. What I like about my “job” is that I often receive tons of products to review, and don’t really do a ton of research on them before trying, because I want to form my own opinion. One of the factors that I usually don’t consider until my final review is price. When I looked up this serum online I got major sticker shock, as it’s $190! What could such an expensive serum promise, you may ask?

13 “active agents,” including dipalmitoyl hydroxypoline, anti-glycation decarby carnosine, Argan extract, and 2 hexapeptides are utilized to work in synergy to combat 16 skin problems related to aging. You may be thinking “what the heck are half of those?” – and I’m with you there! It seems like a bunch of technical jargon, that even I don’t understand. I’m a beauty blogger, not a scientist!

Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Leaf/ Seed Extract, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Ceteareth-20, Dimethicone, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Propylene Glycol, Quercetin, Leuconostoc/ Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Tripeptide-10 Citrulline, Tripeptide-1, Phenoxyethanol, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Ethoxydiglycol, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Pca, Urea, Triethanolamine, Allantoin, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Soluble Collagen, Carbomer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Hydrolyzed Wheat Extract, Fragrance, Squalane, Hydrolyzed Soy Extract, Tetrasodium Edta, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trehalose, Polyquaternium-51, Tocopheryl Acetate, Potassium Sorbate, Polysorbate 60, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Benzoate, Lecithin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf, Ascorbic Acid, Sorbitan Isostearate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropionate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool.

After inspection of the ingredients, I was impressed that it had a lot of beneficial skin ingredients. However, as soon as I saw “Cyclopentasiloxane” and “Dimethicone” so high on the list, I was pretty bummed. Although this serum makes my skin feel soft, I think it could do without the silicones, which just make skin feel soft temporarily. I do think it is a nice product and makes my skin feel soft, but it’s something that I wouldn’t repurchase due to the combination of silicones and the price tag.

I’d say you can find something cheaper, and if you want to spend a lot of money on a skincare product, stick to Radical’s other products that I love…as this one just doesn’t have the same X factor! I will use it all up, though, because why waste?
