I met a longtime friend who’s about to have her first baby any day now for lunch in the city last week. I went early since the area where we met for lunch has fabulous shopping (my favorite running store, a 2-story Michael’s, Nordstrom Rack, Whole Foods…and that’s just half of what’s in that “strip mall”). While in Michael’s everything from the Ashland Signature Accents line was 40% off so I decided to randomly throw some ideas together for a Spring Wreath.
Here’s what you’d need to make the one pictured:
This is all the supplies (again, all from the Ashland Signature Collection). I didn’t end up using the twine you see in the wreath and only needed 2 of the 3 packs of moss. The moss was in sheets so I could cut it to wrap around the straw wreath (which is much cheaper than the foam wreaths by the way. It was $5.99 plus the 40% off).
I started by cutting the moss into strips and got gluing it to the wreath. It’s messy! I “patched” any open spots with the moss that was falling off. It took quite a bit of hot glue and time to get it covered but it’s pretty easy to do.
I just used the burlap ribbon and a DIY Cabochon Push Pin to hang the wreath over the mantel.
The You Are My Sunshine Vintage-Style Sign is available in my Etsy shop. The birds and birdcage are last season finds from Hobby Lobby and the wood slice the ivy is on is from Hobby Lobby as well. The candlesticks are almost 7 years old but they were an Ashley Furniture find.
