Lunar Eclipse (AKA Blood Moon)

Last night I stayed up late to witness the total lunar eclipse, which happens when the moon becomes covered by the Earth's shadow. The moon doesn't go completely dark, but instead takes on a reddish glow, causing some people to call it a "Blood Moon". There will be four consecutive total lunar eclipses happening through September 2015, which scientists call a tetrad. Apparently tetrads are pretty rare occurrences and the next set won't happen until 2032.
I was so glad we had a clear sky to see the eclipse take place. It was fun to bring out my tripod and try to get some shots with my telephoto lens. I'll admit that I had no idea what I was doing, but after experimenting a bit I was able to get a few good shots. Unfortunately, my camera battery died right before the moon was totally covered (just my luck), but that gives me more incentive to stay up late for the next one in October!

Did any of you stay up late to check out the Blood Moon?
