Holiday Gift Guide | For the wanderer

It's tough to pick a gift for that one friend who's always on the move, be it for work or just a permanent holiday, and may not have the space or stability for large or less practical gifts. Here's Lather Rinse Repeat's pick of beauty stocking stuffers for friends on the wing.

Aurora Spa Rituals Rose Hydrating Facial Hydrosol A$24

A facial spray is one of the most useful, hard-working products a frequent traveller can chuck in their ruck. This spritz is loaded with calming essential oils and provides a instant boost of hydration to travel-stressed skin. I use it as an alcohol free toner, to prep skin for facial serums and moisturisers, to revive after hours in an air-conditioned space and to rinse my skin of salty residue after an ocean dip before reapplying sunscreen. The non-aerosol packaging makes it carry on friendly too.

The Jojoba Company Travel Essentials A$24.95

The perfect size, this nifty kit addresses all your in-air hydration needs with miniatures of jojoba, Intense Overnight Renewal Cream and Lemon & Coconut Hand Cream, while the Jojoba Bead Facial Cleanser and Hydrating Day Cream set you up for a fresh start upon reaching your destination. Jojoba extract is perfect for use under night creams and masque as it aids product absorption rather than creating a barrier like an oil-based product.

Jurlique Essence of Rose Roll-on Fragrance Oil A$28

My last flight, I learnt that eight bottles of full size fragrance slightly exceed the allowed liquid allowance. I also learnt that crying lets you get your way, even when it comes to the Australian Government and international travel restrictions, so I'll count that as a lesson well learnt. Next time, I'll keep my bottles of Dzing! and Azure Lime in checked and pop this delicate roll-on of pure rose essence in my handbag instead. It's a fresh scent that captures the lushness of three different rose varieties (Turkish, Moroccan and Arabic), rather than a dry powdery rose.

This Works In Transit Muscle Therapy A$35

This new re-release from This Works is a life saver on stressful trips. Whether a long haul flight, a hike through a far-flung jungle, or over-stuffed backpack moving between hostels, this muscle rub alleviates overworked shoulders and minor strain. The oversized rollerball makes self-application and applying just the right amount of pressure a breeze, although I'm sure that absolutely gorgeous hunk of man seated in 37G would be happy to help out if you get stuck.

Kit Cosmetics Nail Strips in Shape Up A$9.95

Nail art strips are a necessary weapon for my carry-on arsenal (um, maybe don't call them exactly that going through Customs). I'd never dream of painting my nails on a flight (all those fumes in the restricted cabin space can't be good for you, plus it's super rude to your fellow passengers), but nail strips tick all the boxes for an easy on-board mani. Plus smoothing these arty designs from Kit is a crafty way to kill some travel time (I can watch only so many episodes of New Girl before I start convincing myself a blunt fringe really is a good idea this time).
