Oscars 2014 Recap: Red Carpet Looks That Stood Out.

It’s often said (mostly by fashion people) that celebrities don’t take enough risks on the red carpet. I couldn’t help but think exactly that during last night’s Oscars telecast. The ceremony was lovely if long but the style? Safe. Way too safe. That’s not to say there weren’t any fashion-forward bright spots: Best Actress winner Cate Blanchett was gorgeous in heavily-embellished Giorgio Armani and rock goddess nominee Karen O dared to show a whole new glamorous side in black Camilla Stærk. Of course, they weren’t the only ones.
