An Outlet For The Busy Mind
The lack of writing here, on my site, has nothing to do with me not writing. In fact, it has everything to do with me writing more than ever… just not here… but here…
Since the age of 7, I’ve been a bit of a journal freak. I have always had a penchant for stationary, pens and all sorts of office supplies but journals… well, that’s another story. I collect them by default…
Somehow, I have always been able to come up with a reason to buy “yet another notebook or journal.” I consider my reasoning quite an endearing trait. In my mind (and only my mind), I have more than just a logical reason the journals sitting in my room (whether 1/2 written in, or empty with pages for me to fill), are lovely but… not the perfect piece of beautiful binding I actually “NEED” for my next project. And so once again begins my moment of silence… this is when I hold my latest baby just moments after forking over my credit card and squinting as I sign my name below the dollar sign associated with my latest beauty that just might turn into my first masterpiece.
It’s a rush you know, buying journals that is. For a writer, its excitement soaring high into the sky knowing the possibilities are endless. The thoughts that flow through my mind about the many things I want to fill the pages of my newfound love with… and then… it happens. I write, write, write some more… start feeling the awful pain in my wrist and fingers and realize once again that old age has sunken in and I have to go back to my keyboard for a bit.
It’s been a never-ending battle between pen, paper and keyboard for me… This time though, I have decided to follow the golden rule: Everything in moderation. Fortunately, with my newly found world of art journaling, you will get to see bits and pieces of the way I moderate my paper journaling.
