6 Things Every Blog Post Needs

TICTAC – 6 Most Important Elements Every Blog Post Must Have

I put together TICTAC to help remember what every blogger needs to write a “GREAT” Blog Post!

Here Are The 6 Things Every Blog Post Needs:

  1. “T is for TITLE” A post without a great title could mean the kiss of death for all your hard work. A title should have at least one keyword, should be kept simple and attention grabbing.
  2. “I is for IMAGE” Every post needs at least one image/visual/picture. Visual content may even be more important that what you write in your posts. You can check out the post “19 Reasons You Should Include Visual Content in Your Marketing (Data)” for more information! The statistics in the post will blow your mind (especially the ones about Pinterest)!
  3. “C is for CONTENT” Do NOT… I repeat… Do NOT ramble. I can be long-winded. It’s not something I am proud of. If you are like me, and feel the urge to go on and on about one thing, STOP. My most popular posts have always been short, succinct, and to the point. You also do NOT want to mislead your readers. Make sure that your title and content work well with each other. There is nothing worse than being blindsided as a reader.
  4. “T is for TRUSTWORTHY” Imagine reading a post about a topic you expect the writer to be well versed in, only to find out that the writer is questioning their own views throughout the article? I’d stop reading immediately. Writing with your authentic voice is another MUST! People read blogs because they like connecting with writers, not because they are looking for facts alone. There are plenty of other sources to get those from.
  5. “A is for ACCESSORIZE” Blogs are not like newspapers and don’t only come in black and white. Take your posts to the next level by adding value to your posts. Relevant links are always a great way to add value. The links may come from relevant articles your find around the web or even past posts written by you. If your post has a quote or hashtag in it, add a “Tweet Me” button for people to click. Even a “Pin It” button that hovers over your pictures is a nice addition.
  6. “C is for CALL TO ACTION” The end of every post should have a “Call To Action.” It can be something simple, like asking readers to subscribe to your newsletter. You could also engage your readers by asking a question relevant to the subject in your post. Whatever you choose, make sure you have a “Call To Action.”
