What’s Stirring Your Soul?

Did you know that one of the first steps to freeing your mind is knowing how to silence it?

When you go through challenging times, it’s difficult to force your mind to rest. I understand. I’ve had some “far from pleasant” things happen in my life recently… and I can’t say that I haven’t had a weak moment (or two) when the thought of regurgitating my thoughts sounded like a sound decision.

Every Time Things Get Tough… Take A Deep Breath And Let It Go. Calming your mind is good for your soul. It’s about connecting with your inner power. Life simply happening is enough to cause any mind to go into overdrive. It’s up to you to strengthen your emotional IQ and have the “know how” to stop your mind from spiraling out of control.

Your first response should always be to breathe… and breathe some more. Here’s a great tip on how to breathe for relaxation, controlling stress and of course, resting your noggin.

Start by placing one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. Now start to s.l.o.w.l.y. breathe in from your abdomen, but make sure that you take the oxygen in through your nose… then exhale s.l.o.w.l.y. again, but this time you want to push out as much air as you can through your mouth. Continue doing this slowly and at a steady pace. You should feel your lower abdomen rise and fall as you do your deep breathing.

There’s something deep within you… and it’s calling you. It’s your life-force, your vital sparkbut you won’t hear it; Not unless you silence your mind… and listen. Listen hard, for the voice is special. It’s your authentic self leading you to your soul purpose, and there is nothing more beautiful.

This post was written in response to an anxiety attack I had (today). It was awful. I could barely breathe, never mind catch my breath… At that moment, I forgot how to silence my mind. I forgot how to breathe. I was uncomfortable, scared and had an uneasy feeling… until I started to breathe…
