last of the fall leaves

After a snowy two days in Asheville, we woke up to a gorgeous Sunday! Since it was our last afternoon in the mountains we decided to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway and take in all the beautiful leaves changing and views of the snow covered mountains. Riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway was always something I loved to do in the fall at Appalachian. We were a little upset when we got to the parkway to realize that both sides were closed due to icy conditions. Well, I was absolutely determined to get on the Parkway, so we decided to just start walking. I'm so glad we did because it was absolutely beautiful. Leaves covered the road, sun was shining through the colorful leaves, and the birds were chirping away! It was even better than driving around! Oh, and you can't miss the opportunity to throw leaves when they're surrounding you!!! I felt like a kid again for a few minutes :)
This cashmere sweater from Calypso St. Barth kept me extra warm over the weekend (I think I said at least five times how happy I was that I brought it.) This hat (similar to the one in yesterday's post) was also a life saver, not only for my uncooperative hair but for warmth as well! I think it's safe to say I'm a total hat lover now.
