What I wore: green lace skirt

This skirt was one of those pieces you see on a rail in a shop, you grab, try on, buy and love.

It instantly made me think of those beautiful Burberry looks unveiled at the SS14 show at Kensington Gardens, all dreamy pastel and lace.

That said, it’s a fairly bright shade of green but I’ve tended to wear it with more muted colours, and this amazing statement necklace with stones in blues and greens that I picked up in Zara at the same time.

These photos were taken at the weekend, the second time I wore the skirt, both times for a day/night in Leeds with the girls. The first time I wore a cream top and black leather biker jacket. I’m not sure the wedges I’m wearing here are exactly the right kind of shoe to wear with the skirt but, frankly, I was out for seven hours and they’re bloomin’ comfy.

My love for the skirt was tested slightly when I saw a tweet with a picture of it being worn by Lauren Pope of TOWIE ‘fame’ – not because I have anything against her but because she wore it in a different way to how I envisaged it: black top with a rather dodgy logo and black gladiator-style sandals.

But, each to their own. I prefer it my way. And I reckon it’s going to stay one of my staple favourites throughout spring and summer.
