Trinity Kitchen 1st birthday

You may recall how gushing I was when Trinity Kitchen first opened.

Last month Trinity Leeds’ street food hall celebrated its first birthday and it seemed only right to show up and wish it many happy returns.

Oh, if I must also eat while there and listen to singer and ‘show-woman extraordinaire’ Em Brulée, so be it :)

I ate from Buddha Belly, run by 2012 Masterchef contestant Sai Deethwa. It was a delicious, warming southern Thai chicken on a bed of rice sprinkled with veg, fried onion and coriander. My friend had equal success with her Korean barbecue beef with sweet potato fries from Yogiyo!.

Aside from the fabulous jazz music and a few streamers there wasn’t a huge amount going down for Trinity Kitchen’s birthday party.

That said, as always, the food was great, the sellers some of the best street food cooks in the country and the atmosphere that I loved so much that first time hasn’t gone anywhere in the last 12 months.

It’s a place where people from all walks of Leeds’ life eat, drink and kick back together. As I listened to the band, children ran around with balloons and a man played the spoons on his knee while sitting on a stool at the champagne bar. It’s a place that always makes me smile.
