What Should William & Kate Name Their Baby?

We’re reeling from the news that our favorite UK couple (and good friends of ours, of course) Kate Middleton and Prince William are having their second child. Upon hearing that bookies are actually taking bets on baby names, we couldn’t help but make some suggestions and predictions of our own based on some of our pop culture idols.

I mean, seriously, what if the new royal baby was named Tyrion? Potato-heads can dream, can’t they? We know K & W may go in a different direction with something a tad more traditional – like James for a boy, Victoria for a girl – but we figured we’d throw our hats in the ring here, just in case…

If it’s a girl…

1. Khaleesi, Game of Thrones: This suggestion kind of speaks for itself…we’ve all been praying this dragon-rearing blond wins the throne on HBO’s hit series, and now there could actually be a royal in our day and age named Khaleesi. No pressure Kate and Will, but if you care anything about us GOT fans… #justsaying

2. Pear: Because to our knowledge, Gwyneth’s daughter is the only celebrity child named after a fruit, which clearly needs to change…

3. Katniss, The Hunger Games: We know it’s a long shot, and we realize the association to a movie where teenagers are forced to fight until there’s only one survivor isn’t necessarily pleasant, but Princess Katniss does have a certain ring to it. Plus, the third movie hits theaters in November! Great timing much?

4. Blue Ivy: Because if William and Kate name their child after Jay-Z and Beyonce’s child, Jay-Z and Beyonce can’t break up.

If it’s a boy…

1. Prince Oberon, Game of Thrones: I mean, A. he was the best guest star ever. B. We know the prince thing works with his first name. Done and done.

2. Jerry, Seinfeld: It will bring back Jerry and George! Plus, has there ever been a Prince Jerry? It’s time someone took a stab at it…

3. Potato September, A TNP Original: We took inspiration from celebrity baby names like Pilot Inspektor (Jason Lee’s son), Sage Moonblood (Sylvester Stallone) and Memphis Eve (Bono), and created our own New Potato original. We weren’t sure the process of making these names (you know, how someone’s porn name is their first street, followed by their first pet) so we winged it and put together our favorite starch and what month it is.

4. South East – The literal opposite of Kimye’s baby name choice. Enough said.
