Our Wedding Day: The Ceremony

Izzy and I were married at the Japanese garden in Enger Tower Park. Our group was so small that rather than get a park permit we opted to just head to the tower and find a spot. Despite the park being busy (it was Memorial Day weekend in Duluth after all) we found a little spot for our group and had our short but sweet ceremony.

Our officiant is Izzy's best friend Carrie and I will say that there are only two times that I ALMOST cried. The first was right before we started the ceremony. I happened to look around at where we were and who we were with and for a second I got overwhelmed.

The second was during the ceremony when I looked at Carrie. I could tell SHE was starting to get teary eyed and that made me tear up. When you have people in your life that are so overwhelmed FOR you it's hard not to get a little overwhelmed yourself!

We told Carrie that we wanted a short and sweet ceremony that was happy and low key and us. She definitely did an amazing job.
And then it came time for the vows. Izzy and I wrote our vows together and they each began with our own promises and thoughts and then ended with the same idea.
I went first.

My Vows Izzy, I choose you to be my faithful partner and my one true love. I will respect and love you always and in all ways. I promise to encourage and inspire you and to love you through life's ups and downs. I take you to be my spouse, to have and to hold, in tears and in laughter, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward in this world and the next.
And then it was Izzy's turn.

Izzy's Vows Krysten, I choose you to be no other than yourself, and my one true love. I will forever be there always and in all ways. I promise to love you unconditionally. To love you truly in good times and bad. I take you to be my spouse, to have and to hold, in tears and in laughter, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, from this day forward in this world and the next.
When our vows were said, we exchanged rings.
And then we were husband and wife!

Our ceremony was exactly what we wanted, shared with some of the most important people in our lives.

Of course we needed pictures with our nearest and dearest...
