Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Garnier Micellar Water – £4.99

Micellar water has become somewhat of a revelation, not just in the world of beauty but also in my house. Before I became interested in beauty blogging, I used to use wipes to remove makeup, (as probably many of you did/do). However when I switched to micellar waters a couple of years ago it was great, no more rubbing and tugging at my skin and makeup was removed in half the time.
Since then these waters have trickled down the ‘beauty food chain’ to drugstores, with L’Oreal and Garnier presenting their own offerings respectively. I wasn’t that enamoured with L’Oreal after reading some reviews about it and passed it over for some trusty Bioderma, however I’m half way through that bottle and after hearing raves about the Garnier one I couldn’t wait to try it out.

Finding the cleansing water is bloody hard at the moment, especially with Boots having a 3 for 2. I picked this up in Superdrug for £4.99 although I know Asda sell it for £3.99 (hence why they never have any stock when I pop in!)

You get a lot for your money with 400ml of product which they equate to 200 uses, which I think is great as it’s about an average of 7 months worth! Whether it will last that long is another story, but as I probably only use cleansing waters after a night out or to remove my makeup midway through the day (and either re-apply or not) I’d say this is going to last me well into the next 8 months or so.

It’s unscented as opposed to the Bioderma Sebium one, which in all honesty I’m not fussed about because I don’t mind the smell, but if fragrance is something you actively avoid or if you don’t like the scent of Bioderma this is probably for you!

It removes my makeup brilliantly, there’s no stinging or irritation especially when removing eye makeup and it doesn’t leave any sort of sticky residue afterwards, which is good. I haven’t tried this with waterproof mascara as I don’t wear it, but I’ve tried heavier eye makeup and regular mascara/eyeliner/eyeshadow combo, they both come off with ease and I don’t even have a touch of the dreaded panda eyes when I get out of the shower wahoo!

It’s a fantastic product and lived up to all my expectations. It’s a great budget buy but at the moment I wouldn’t say it’s easier to get hold of than Bioderma as everyone seems to be going mad for it! It’s definitely one you should invest in if you happen to see it!

I’m not sure whether I’ll ever be able to let go of my Bioderma, but this has definitely earned a place along side it on my beauty shelf and shall continue for the foreseeable future.
