A Backcombing Duo

Charles Worthington Volume & Bounce Texturising Spray – £6.99
Head Jog Teasing Brush – £3.99

I’ll be honest with you now, I never thought I’d write this post. My hair is incredibly fine, but I have a lot of it. As a consequence big hair is a fantasy just out of reach, I had resigned myself that no matter how much spritzing and fluffing, my hair will forever stick to my head.

However recently I added two new items to my haircare collection and they have exceeded all my expectations!

The first is one you may have heard rumblings about, theCharles Worthington Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray. It’s hailed as a drugstore dupe for theOribe Dry Texturising Sprayand after giving it a couple of go’s so far, I’m fully in support of it. I’ve not penned a review yet but when I do it’ll be a good ‘un.

The second is a backcombing brush. I picked thisHead Jog Teasing Brushup off Amazon for about £3 or so and it’s completely changed how I backcomb my hair, I’m not sure how I was even coping without this brush. It gives me the height I need from using a tailcomb but is as gentle as a hair brush.

I spritz the CW spray at my roots and give it a good tousle. It adds a matte feeling without being too sticky and ensures my hair isn’t too flyaway and soft. Next I take small sections of hair and use the brush to tease my hair and then voila! I finally have the volume I’ve always wanted.

Whilst I will never achieve the level of volume that others can (and I’m supremely jealous of that), the fact I can achieve some height is good enough for me.
