High Five Friday

HIGH FIVE Friday!

What a week.

It seemed like a it was going to be a good one up until Tuesday afternoon. Cooper was attacked by a dog while we were out for a walk. It came running out of an apartment that we had just passed. I didn’t even hear or see the dog till I felt a tug on Coop’s leash and heard a snarl as the dog plowed over Coop and had him pinned. I don’t even think Cooper knew what happened. Thankfully Cooper is ok. It was so fast and so scary especially when I started to think about the ‘what ifs.’ My kids were also with us riding their bikes. What if the dog had attacked them? What if it had turned on me as I was kicking it to get off Cooper?

Unfortunately, this happened on the community path that we frequent a lot. I don’t think we’ll be using it anytime soon. It’s too bad careless people ruined it for us.

Since then, I’ve been a little scattered brain so today calls for something light and fun. How ’bout a round of currently?

Currently…

Eating

Fish tacos. Ever since both my son and daughter asked for an extra serving of Hake a few weeks ago, I’ve been making it a point to have it on the weekly meal plan. It is quite good. What’s not so good? Heating up the leftovers for lunch at work. I think my coworkers are ready to strangle me with stinking up the place for hours after.

Drinking

Starbucks Ice Coffee. I’ve been suckered into their Gold Card Member promotions since Memorial Day. How can you beat buying an ice coffee and getting 2 bonus stars?

Reading

Run Faster from the 5K to the Marathon: How to Be Your Own Best Coach by Brad Hudson and Matt Fitzgerald

SO much information! I’ve been bookmarking and taking notes in every chapter. I really love his approach to coaching – Change it up, hit the hills, and LISTEN to your body.

Wearing

I’ve been loving all of my new Saucony shoes. I was wearing the Guide 6 so I was quite pleased to see not much has changed with the Guide 7. Oh and I can’t wait to share with you which marathon and half marathon Kailey and I will be running for 26Strong! Hopefully we’ll have confirmation soon.

Excited

Tomorrow I am volunteering at a Girls On the Run 5K. I’ve been wanting to get involved with this organization for awhile. I’ll be working the activities – Happy Hair, Tattoos, Selfie Station (I’m sure the girls can give me some tips!) and then at the first water stop. My daughter is also coming along to help out. I think she’ll get a kick out of seeing all the girls. Although when I told her about the race she said she was going to run. It should be a fun morning!

Your turn! What are you currently…?
