Before I had my baby, I used to tell friends that he would wear $5 onesies and hand-me-downs for the rest of his life, because, you know, I was going to be practical and efficient about this whole thing. Why waste money on clothing that he can only wear for a few months, right? Right? Well, ha on me, because I find myself buying him ridiculous things…and foregoing all new clothing for myself in favor of his wardrobe. Ridiculous. BUT, I just.can’t.help.myself.
One site that I’ve been stalking particularly mercilessly these past seven months is Thumbeline, which is home to some of the coolest kids brands out there: Mini Rodini, Bobo Choses, PopUpShop, Noé & Zoë…all I can say is thank god, I don’t have a daughter, because these Tutu du Monde dresses slay my heart. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for shops in which to score good baby gifts (should you be going off registry), go here: One piece from a site like this just blows a six-pack of basic onesies out of the water.
Meanwhile, I’m about to pull the trigger on this haul for Baby Max: I find, now that he’s in the 6-12 month category, that I find myself justifying all sorts of ridiculous things.
