Squishing about with the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I’ve mentioned the awesome goodies I got thanks to FarleyCo recently, and wrote about the Silicone Liner HERE. Well today it’s time to move on to the fun new sponge that I got to try. I have not used the Beauty Blender, but I have used other regular sponges, so I’m not completely new to this world.

So what is different about this sponge, compared to the many out there?

• Rounded sides blend large areas of the face with a repeated dabbing or “stippling” motion
• Precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections

Now I know you can’t really tell. Unless you stare at it…but on the right side of my hand, foundation has been applied with the Real Techniques Sponge. Basically, using a light patting motion, it blends the foundation in to my skin without looking cakey. Basically what helps me think that this is a nifty tool, is that it looks so natural. On the left side of my hand, there is more redness (maybe slight splotching), but on the right that is covered up. However on both sides, they both look pretty natural, makes my life easy. Not having to worry that I look like I placed a masque over myself, takes the worry out of the morning routine.

On the FarleyCo website, they are currently being sold at $9.99. That might seem a bit expensive for some, but when you compare it to Beauty Blender, this is a great deal, especially since it holds up quite well under repetitive use.

Foundation, or cream blush might make it stain a bit. But I use a few squirts of my Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water, squish it about, then rinse it out. Usually this restores it to its regular colouring. Also just be very careful when you squish it to get rid of water. If you don’t hold it right, you might pierce it with your nails. I haven’t had that happen to me for this one, but has happened with other sponges that I have used.
