A little while back, a little baggie containing this mascara arrived on the doorstep. Oh man…pink… is my first thought. But then I looked closer at what this product was about.

The fact that the brush is contained outside the actual product, might annoy some. Yes you could argue that there is more waste. But at the same time, it allows you to get up close and personal with the brush before you purchase. This can be a great plus for some people. People like me, who opt to go for thinner brush heads, as they are more forgiving on stubborn short lashes, that tend to hide under the monolid (dang that was a long sentence).
Now, my experience seems to be the same for any of the Lashblast mascaras that I have tried. Not the best.
It is indeed quite soft feeling. I mean, if you stroke your lashes, you would know that there is some sort of product on them. You just wouldn’t realize that it was mascara, as we typically think of them making our natural lashes harder/stiffer. The thing is, I don’t usually notice that they are stiffer, unless I decide to give them a boost by pressing my curler to them (once, so I don’t make the mascara coat crack). I did find it was flake resistant, as I didn’t have anything fall off for me.
What is also nice, is that it removes easily with just facial cleanser, or a wipe. No need to rub it off, or to use a heavy duty remove to get it off.
Bristles are spread apart, so if you have lashes that are sparse, you may need to take extra care. But, even still, I found it difficult to make my lashes clump with the brush. Which is interesting to me, since just by looks alone, it reminds me of their other brushes which did make my clump a little (wooo, another long sentence..sorry, this is what happens when I try and proof at the end of a long day).
In my use, I found that there was a bit of length that was added, but nothing drastic. I also found that it uncurled my lashes a little bit, but the formula wasn’t super wet.
Overall impression?
I think it is cool to want to be innovative. Unfortunately this wasn’t for me. If you have monolids, and skin on the oily side, you may get results like mine. But of course, YMMV. I think it might be nice for those who have naturally long lashes, and just need them to be a tad more defined.
These should be in stores now, if you were interested, as I had seen them at the end of November at various SDM locations for ~$10CAN.
It is a pretty tube though…even for those who tend to detest pink lol
