Wednesday Wipe Down

What day is it?

Well, yes, it’s Huuuuuuump Day.

No doubt about that.

It’s also Wednesday Wipe Down at the Crafty Dad house.

It’s quick, easy, and effective at keeping your home looking good.

(And it’s a great way to keep clutter from taking over too!)

Here’s the Rub:

1. Deal with the mail. Put it away. Trash it. Recycle it. Shred it. Whatever you need to do. Just DO IT.

2. Wipe down the kitchen counters, sink, stove top, and refrigerator. Nothing fancy. A damp cleaning rag is really all we’re talking about here. Wipe off the grime and fingerprints. Make your sink shine. Done.

3. Bathrooms. We have three of them. I was done in less than FIVE minutes. It’s easy. A damp rag takes care of the sinks and counter top area. A second damp rag for wiping off the toilet. Toss the dirty hand towels in the laundry. Put out fresh ones. Boom! Done.

4. De-clutter. Find all the TV remotes. Put them in their basket, or bowl, or whatever you use to corral them. Make sure the kids’ toys are put away. (Strongly encourage them to help you with this task. I mean really.) If things are really a mess, I put all the clutter in a laundry basket and then ask each family member to deal with his/her stuff. PUT IT AWAY. We all have trouble with that one, don’t we? Oh, it’s SO easy to get it out. But putting things away seems to be an ageless shortcoming.

That’s it!

It only takes a few minutes. And, if everyone pitches in, it goes WAY faster. And the grumbling is minimized too.

Ask me how I know!
